The Canopy Humidifier was built to maintain optimal humidity in a 500 sq ft room (roughly 25X20 ft, though this is dependent on ceiling height). The recommended humidity for your home is between 40-60% indoors. Our evaporative technology limits the humidifier from exceeding 60% because the rate of evaporation changes as the surrounding environment becomes more saturated. These levels of humidity may drop if there is an air conditioner or overactive heater in the room, which the humidifier is competing with.

If you're not seeing the change you'd like you may want to use it on the High setting to increase the humidity output.

We recommend that you keep your Canopy Humidifier on a tabletop, to avoid dust and debris from your floor being picked up by the fan. While the humidifier's tank, cap, and tray can all be cleaned on the top shelf of a dishwasher, the body of the unit, where the fan and electrical components are stored, cannot.

To clean the body of the Humidifier we recommend that you unplug your unit from the power source, and wipe out the inside with a damp cloth, or an antibacterial wipe. If you're seeing dust in the fan of your humidifier you can clean this out by using canned air to dislodge anything that may have collected on the fan or screen. After using the canned air, simply wipe the fan with a damp cloth, both on top and inside your humidifier. No need to unscrew anything!

I'm sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the performance of your Canopy Humidifier and are finding the noise produced by the fan distracting. The volume of the fan varies depending on what setting you have your Humidifier set to, Low, Medium, or High. The higher the setting the louder the fan.

We designed the Canopy Humidifier with mold in mind, Auto Mode and our water sensors were both developed to inhibit the growth of mold. Though depending on the environment and usage, mold could develop over time if standing water is regularly left in the tray for a few days, or the filter is not regularly dried out.

The Canopy Humidifier will run until all of the water has evaporated. Please allow your Canopy Humidifier to complete its cycle and run dry to shut off on its own before refilling the tank. Do not unplug your humidifier with water left in the tank. Allowing the filter to be wet continuously without periodical drying can certainly compromise its performance.

Generally, we recommend replacing your filter every 5-7 weeks to ensure Canopy is performing optimally. If you have hard water in your home you may need to change your filter more frequently than our recommended 6-week cycle. You can do this by going to your account page, selecting Manage Subscriptions, and editing your Delivery Schedule.
