The tub spout water filter was tricky to use. It didn’t fit quite right despite all of the components it comes with. I bought this water filter to use when I travel and was hoping for it to much easier. I do believe the filter portion is great and so I held the item in place to make sure the water came in from below and not through the slit in the front. Inconvenient but I did get a filtered water, bath.

We're sorry to hear that the setup wasn't as easy as you had hoped, especially since you purchased it for travel. We understand how frustrating it can be when the fit isn't as straightforward as expected.
We wanted to share a little more information that may help. The openings at the front of the Bath Tub Filter and at the bottom, behind the filter cartridge, are intentional features called spillways. They're designed to release excess water when your faucet has a high flow rate, which is common with many bathtub spouts. If your tub has a single-handle faucet where the flow rate can't be adjusted independently from the temperature, it's normal to see some water exit through these spillways. Even in those situations, the majority of the water still passes through the filter media before entering your tub, providing a significant improvement over unfiltered tap water.
For the best fit and performance, we also recommend making sure the attachment band is pulled all the way back toward the base of your tub spout, with the arrow on the tab facing the wall. The band should not be visible through the top slit of the silicone cover, as this helps create a more secure seal and minimizes unnecessary water escaping.
