To enjoy the ongoing benefit of cleaner water, replace your Canopy shower filter cartridge every 90 days. Our unique tri-media filters capture contaminants such as chlorine. By replacing the filter cartridge at 90-day intervals, you can ensure the activated carbon, copper-zinc, and calcium sulfite used in our filters are ready to trap impurities and keep your water pure.  

With that in mind, Canopy filters last for about 3,000 gallons of water. Showers that are used by multiple family members or for longer durations may need replacements earlier.

The best way to tell your shower filter cartridge is ready for a replacement is that you’re coming up on the 90-day mark. After all, it’s better to replace the cartridge before contaminants like chlorine have the chance to take their toll on your skin and hair. 

If you can’t recall the last time you replaced your shower filter, check to see if your filter is used up by seeing if the brown/gold Copper-Zinc layer is missing. If the black and white are the only layers remaining, it’s time for a replacement.

To change the filter on a Canopy Filtered Showerhead, start by pushing the outer rim of the showerhead upwards until you hear a click. Release the inner face and remove it by twisting counterclockwise. Twist the cap of the faceplate counterclockwise to open it, remove the old filter, and replace it with the new one. Replace the cap by screwing it clockwise until the arrows are aligned. Press the faceplate back onto the showerhead body until you hear a click. 

To change the filter on a Canopy Handheld Filtered Showerhead, grab the faceplate grooves and twist counterclockwise while holding the showerhead upwards. Remove the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring proper alignment. Reattach the faceplate by twisting it back on clockwise.

Yes! We’ve made it simple by keeping it to one shower filter cartridge for all Canopy Showerheads. That way, there’s no confusion over which type to order, whether you’re using our traditional Filtered Showerhead or our Handheld Filtered Showerhead.

The same tri-media filter is compatible with both models, offering powerful purifying capabilities that block chlorine and other contaminants from disrupting your shower. That means you can subscribe for convenient filter deliveries and still receive the replacements you need if you have multiple Canopy showerheads throughout your home.

Our showerhead filter replacement is made to fit Canopy showerhead models exclusively, while the bath tub filter cartridges are only compatible with Canopy Bath Tub Filters, including both the Baby Bath Tub Filter and the regular Bath Tub Filter. Due to their unique designs, the showerhead filter cannot be used for bathtub filters, and vice versa. But rest assured that both offer gentler cleansing through the same three types of filtering media: activated carbon, copper-zinc, and calcium sulfite.
