How do I change my showerhead filter?

The Canopy Filtered Showerhead

Release the Faceplate:
Push the outer rim of the showerhead upwards until you hear a click, releasing the inner face. Twist it counterclockwise to remove.


Change the Filter:
Place the faceplate on a flat surface and twist the cap counterclockwise to open. Discard the old filter and replace it with the new one, wider side down. Screw the cap back on clockwise until secure and the arrows align.

Reattach the Faceplate:
Press the faceplate back into the showerhead body until you hear a click. Ensure the cap is fully tightened if it doesn’t align properly.

If you have any trouble unscrewing your Showerhead Cap, here are a few steps you can try to help loosen it:
  1. When unscrewing be sure to twist the cap counterclockwise to open it. There are two grooves on the casing that match up, indicating when to stop screwing it in, twist in the direction to separate those.
  2. Soaking the showerhead in warm, soapy water for about an hour can help loosen any buildup that may be causing it to stick. After soaking, make sure to dry the showerhead completely before trying again.
  3. You can try using a kitchen towel for a better grip, similar to opening a stubborn jam jar lid.

Remove the Faceplate:
Grip the faceplate grooves and twist it counterclockwise while holding the showerhead upwards.

Change the Filter:
Remove the old filter and insert a new one, ensuring it's properly aligned with the wider part facing out.

Reattach the Faceplate:
Twist the faceplate back on clockwise until secure. Double-check alignment before placing it back on the stand.


Ready to Go!: With the new filter installed and the faceplate securely in place, your Canopy Handheld Filtered Showerhead is ready for use!


Filter Replacement Tips:

  • Canopy filters last for about 3,000 gallons of water, though it varies by water content.
  • To check if your filter is used up, see if the brown/gold KDF layer is missing. If only the black and white layers remain, it’s time for a new filter.
