In general, we recommend replacing your every 45 days. However, this guideline depends on how much you use your device and the quality of your water, among other variables. If you notice any discoloration, it’s time to replace your humidifier’s filter.

A clean filter means the humidifier means better performance. Any built-up minerals or mold not only decreases your air quality, but it also means greater energy consumption and less efficacy. You may notice a reduction in moisture output.

Bedside and Nursery Humidifiers are compatible with both the Bedside Humidifier Filter and the Bedside Humidifier Filter 2.0 while Large Room Humidifiers can only use the Large Room Humidifier Filters.

The best way to save money on Canopy humidifier filters is to bundle and subscribe. If you purchase an 8-pack bundle with a subscription, you’ll maximize your savings and never have to worry about running out of filters.

The Bedside Humidifier Filter and the upgraded Bedside Humidifier Filter 2.0 annual bundles include 8 filters, a one-year supply, which saves you between $27–$37 per year versus buying them individually.

Canopy humidifier filters are designed to collect and trap minerals and prevent them from being dispersed into the air. Though we use evaporative humidifier filters, any clogged and dirty filters can become breeding grounds for mold. Calcium and magnesium are found in most tap water; when they show up as discoloration on your filter, it’s time for a replacement. Humidifier filter replacement is recommended every 5–7 weeks to keep your device performing well.

It’s also important to make sure you order the correct filter for your device. For Nursery or Bedside Humidifiers, we recommend our upgraded Bedside Humidifier Filter 2.0 (available as single filters, 2-packs, 3-packs, and an 8-pack that typically lasts a full year), which use the same wicking paper as the original but now has an added pre-filter layer to trap dust and larger particles from the air to stop dust before it reaches your fan.*
